Treatment Process
Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine:
Treatment is tailored to the individual and may change over time depending on how the body responds.
For acupuncture, weekly treatments are often recommended during the first few weeks so we can better understand your response to treatment. From there, appointments may continue weekly or gradually space out depending on the situation and your wishes.
For Chinese herbal medicine, weekly reviews are usually recommended during the first month so we can monitor symptom changes and adjust formulas where needed. As treatment progresses, reviews may gradually space out to fortnightly or monthly.
Chinese Herbs
Chinese herbs are offered through Lian.ch, a high-quality Chinese herbal pharmacy based in Switzerland with a branch in the Netherlands. Herbs may be prescribed as granules, whole herbs or ground herbs, depending on the situation and what feels most appropriate and practical.
Prescriptions are prepared and sent directly to the client by the pharmacy. Payment for herbal prescriptions is made directly to Lian.ch. Consultation fees for herbal adjustments, reviews and prescription preparation are paid to Heart Space.
A Personalised Approach
Healing and recovery rarely happen in a completely linear way. Some conditions respond quite quickly, while others may need more time and ongoing support.
Treatment is adapted to the individual, taking into account the nature of the condition, the wider context of a person’s life and how the body responds over time.
For more recent or acute issues, a shorter period of treatment may be sufficient, while longer-standing or chronic conditions may require support over a longer period of time.

Herbal prescriptions are tailored individually and charged separately depending on the formula and supplier.
Health Insurance
Heart Space is a member of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Acupunctuur (NVA).
Depending on your health insurer and policy, you may be able to claim back part of the acupuncture consultation fee through supplementary insurance. Please contact your insurer directly for further information about reimbursement.

Payment
Payment can be made after the consultation by card or online banking via QR code. An invoice will also be provided by email.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged in full.
